Before beginning work on this website I was planning to add some new maps on the combogib servers. I had several requests from players for new maps. Therefore, I'm pretty behind on this right now.

Recently, a player/mapper named Disorder has sent me some of his maps and they look great. So, I have decided to finally try and get a map update done this week.

If anyone has any additional maps they would like to see added or even has some they would like to see removed post in here.

I probably won't be removing any of the top 100 most popular maps though just in case you want all joust maps removed or some such request 🙂

    If it was me, I'd suggest removing all 1on1 / 2on2 maps 😋 Respectively making them un-votable when there are 10+ players on the server.
    ... but - since they are so often voted (also with a high player count) - there seems to be, however, a clientele who actually likes it 🤷‍♂️
    I am afraid those folks get sad (or mad) when their lovely spam maps get removed / blocked.
    So yeah.. Unless you don't fear upset (or angry) spawn-kill-fanatics, I guess those should stay, huh? 🤐

        Yeah, not so fond of joust or 1on1 maps with a full server either but what can you do? 🤨 At least occasionally there is actual CTF happening, somewhat anyway 🙂

          Thanks for the maps. I really like Abraxas and it looks like it could make for some fun games with 3v3 or 4v4. Definitely adding Abraxas for this round.

          The fragwhore is cool too but I have a dilemma with this one 🙂 I don't want to remove the original and I don't want fragwhore to be played double the time it already is, lol. Very cool edition though, thanks. I'm keeping it as a maybe for now.

            I have worn myself out trying the 100 or so maps that I have accumulated from browsing around the last 6 months or so but the update is near. I'm guessing around 15 or 20 maps are decent enough or better to add to the public servers. I just have to add them to the test server and redirect etc. etc. then make sure they all work properly. Should be done in the next day or so.

            New map update finally complete on main London Combogib server. Should get London 2 & Atlanta done later today. In total there are 23 newly added maps and just 4 map removals. I won't name the removals because a couple players probably liked them but the majority seemed to find them all boring and one of the maps spammed the log too much otherwise I would have probably kept it. If I removed one you like and you want it back just let me know.

            The new maps that were added are shown in a green font in mapvote for around 30 days, so if you like some of them start trying to remember their names now 🙂

            A few of these maps were specifically requested by players but the majority were found just by trying various maps and deciding they were decent then kept if they didn't have major problems in testing.

            I also often add maps that I played long ago that seemed somewhat fun or novel back in the day. I mostly add these so players can experience them because I have fond memories of playing them. If they end up being disliked by a majority I will eventually remove them.

            I think the 2on2 maps can stay for some spammy action, but I think the 1on1 maps should be removed. Yes, it gets voted on fairly often, but the majority of times it ends up killing the server in my experience.

                Disorder is the name of the mapper making the new 2022 maps and the good news is he is still at it 👍️ I've had a sneak peek at his latest works and they are looking very nice. I will put them on the servers as soon as he is done with them. I can tell you his concentration is on the most popular maps but I'm not sure if he will do a Joust map or not.

                  Well, some have probably already noticed there was another combogib map update for today. Disorder created some new maps and made edits to a few others so I went ahead and tested approximately 70 random maps to find some to add with them in this update. In total, there are 10 newly added maps in this update. The update is done on the London ComboGib server. London 2 and Atlanta should also be updated within the next day. Here is the list of new maps in case anyone is interested:
