how to increase FPS ?

Hey guys,

I am playing with XOpenGL and averaging 89 FPS, 1024x768 32 bit color depth

When I switch to OpenGL, i average 125 FPS, 1024x768 32 bit color depth, but the colors are darker and it's ugly as you can see.

How do people get 300+ FPS? i have heard that's the standard since the game is so old any machine should be able to handle it. Also if you notice in the picture the bottom FPS ticker is stuck, it doesn't show the actual number.

My PC specs;

16GB RAM
Windows 10 64 bit

In OpenGL render device, try increasing GammaOffset in ut.ini in the [OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice] section, if that doesn't help, you can also set OneXBlending to False in the same section.
As for fps, you heard wrong that 300fps is the standard or people don't know what they're talking about, because if the server is full and you play on an open map, you'll experience fps drops and it'll be the same when the map has higher quality textures. Generally, you can rock 60fps, but I prefer around 150fps. Referring to Time Demo Statistics - the upper value is the average fps value at a given moment of displaying one frame and that's why it changes so quickly, because assuming you have it set to 125fps, it means that one frame is displayed every 8 milliseconds (1 second = 1000 milliseconds). This lower number is given to round this rate of change to a more rational time that a human can see and analyze, and here the current fps is shown, but every one second.
Check if you don't have frame limits set in [OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice] in ut.ini - FrameRateLimit or/and in the [WinDrv.WindowsClient] section also under the name FrameRateLimit.

Player There is a Windows program you can use called "custom resolution utility." If you are using a 60hz display, you may be able to get up to 70-90hz by using the program. You need at least a low end video card if you want more.

XopenGL is the worst for fps, D3D9/D3d11 are the best.

Turn off gore
Turn off Decals
Turn off Dynamic lighting

Or if you like decals just turn off gibs, or vis versa having them both on can drops fps badly even on newer pcs, combogib spam maps at least.

I could play at 1920x1080 ~ 144 fps. with an I5 2400 IGPU, the same with an i5 3450.

If your pc has a pcie slot keep an eye out for 2nd hand GT1030 you can easily get 300fps 1080p even with nicer graphic settings and you won't need power cables for it, if you are patient you can get them for $20-$30 if you are lucky.

a better gfx card wil do the job, and play on d3d. you prob gonna get max about 200 now with the settings ooper said, with this gfx card.

If your monitor is 60hz don't waste your time until you upgrade that.

Player just play on d3d9 , you never gonna get a good fps on xopengl , my thought

If you live east coast USA you can go to micro center and grab 120 hz 1080p for about 100 bucks and even a 10 year old video card will get you at least 120 fps

In my case i get most fps with opengl,its limited to 200 fps but sometimes it drops below 100 for few secs,dx9 gaves me best colours but fps drops to 140.dx11 looks great but crashes online every time after 20 secs of play or spec.gpu is gtx 1060.dont know realy does anyone need more than 60 fps for smooth play.

bolec you should get more out of it , i play with an old pentium dual core and an old radeon card , and i got 250 avg on d3d9

bolec 1920x1080 @165hz , i play world texture detail at low but that doesnt make that much of a difference .

I get 165 fps all day everyday even with everything on highest and ultra HD skins. I do have what was a mid level card though 1660ti.

Most division players play with 370fps - netspeed 25000. For me high fps plays better then a 120 or 165. I played before with a stable 300+ and it makes a difference.

So I guess my FPS should make me a great player lol
How ever it does not. Now if I am on a server that is close to me yeah. But I think Ping and location makes more of a difference then any FPS you can get.

X-Cellerator yea fps doesn't gonna make you a good player suddenly , you need to have good aim to feel the difference.

I always prefer a rock solid stable fps rather then overall max fps, 390 limit via netspeed 25000 is what I generally use, but on servers like monsterhunt/xvehicles where higher netspeed is better I limit to 300fps via ut's fps limiter.
