I did play some insta here and there like old school lms insta.
But for me ComboGib introduced a all new dynamic to the gameplay that I just don't get from regular insta.
The double jump , grapple alone just add a all new dimension to the game play.
I mean look at bustacell. Not the best player or aimer but a perfect example of the endless way you can play this 20 year old game.
You wouldn't get that if people played only insta.
I get the skills involved in it but I just find it monotonous.
It's a different game play. There's just so much more flow to the game IMHO when it comes to combogib.
I join those pug games on discord and it's always some drama with teams or some elitist telling you you're just not good enough to hang with the big dogs 😁

Stop complain is my advise and go play pugs if you don't want normal players not call you cheater. I know you from almost 7-8 years and this tricks with craying around won't help you a lot. I've had my gripes with accusations as well, it's a public server and people don't really care about improving in a 26 year old game and just want to hold M1 and have fun, and yeah some can come to the wrong conclusions about others.

It would be neat if the game was still active enough to have decently skilled pub games like in quake so newer players can have fun on their own turf, alas, only combogib and deck16 servers remain active and if there's no pugs going on, that's really the only option, it sucks but the game's old.

But this schizo posting and personal attacks? Also someone from PG talking crap about 'other' communities? Oof.

Deepack has taught me a lot and i have improved tremendously becuase of his help so i can confirm he does not cheat. The players who play in PG and are div 1 level or above it will be too easy for them if they step into combogib server even i can get over 300+ frags there easily.

I don't know you or your history, but being falsely accused of cheating sucks, so if that's been happening to you I empathise. If it gets to you, then just ignore it or mute people. If you did cheat in the past ( and I'm not saying you did, I have no idea), then that trust is hard to build back up.

This though blows my mind. Try to understand that for a lot of us being the best we can be at UT is just simply not an ambition. Many of us are middle aged guys and gals just trying to have fun and relax on a game we grew up playing and we get that from playing in a public server with all different skill levels and play styles.

Peter this is a fair comment and points out exactly the issue. Two distinct sides: one looks at UT competitive only and plays to improve dismissing casual players, the other side plays casually not wanting to be competitive but some shouting false accusations to competitive players.
The broader community is already divided enough, but as far as I see this is a personal issue anabella has with deepack, and it has nothing to do with UT. It would be good not bringing personal stuff to UT.

In my experience (and some others i've talked to), ppl like that are the ones who play quite significant part in killing their favorite game off, by making it harder for new ppl to stick around, and turning gameplay experience in to pointless and dull stroking,

I know this is an old thread and honestly I am not trolling but some mentioned middle aged men enjoying a game they played when younger struck a cord , I recently retired so now I have time to do the things I enjoy , painting , writing a d and d novel , wood carving , swimming , learning the (electronic) bag pipes , reading trash (classic sci fi ) travelling Europe sculpting with clay and finally playing ut 99 which i had to give up many years ago so I could hold down a job and raise a family.

I want to improve but more than that I want a laugh , I get called a noob , retard , blah blah all the time , it's a shame but meh it's the Internet

However there are some that give good advice , laff at my (lame ) jokes [ mid match , could everyone stop a moment while I try something ]

And once to my pride and joy flag taker told me to f*** myself (ironically) after a purple patch of defending on oval , I was honoured , been crap since

If only I could aim better I would be better if I could dodge and if had faster reactions

Playing on here has been anenjoyable part of retiring just sorry I sometimes shoot my team mates in the face
