Since i heard Oldunreal is gonna patch UT2004 would it not be awesome to have a UT2004 server? I think same style as UT99 with classic maps instagib and grapple maybe? We could even port UT99 maps that are played on UT99 eatsleeput server. Relive the year 2004 when competitive gaming was at its peak.
Good idea, have been thinking about a ut2004 combogib ctf server for some years. Modified a combo weapon for combogib already, still need a grapple mod. Check out jerc's Bombing Run server which runs the combogib weapon.

It's been a known/joked about for a while, but they've publicly announced it now, oldunreal devs kept quoting a secret project for some time now, deaod joining the devs a while back was a big clue that it was in the works.
This is what i mean, for me UT2004 was the absolute best time of FPS games and competitive gaming when lan party's where still a thing. For me it feels a bit more like Quake 3 then UT99. A unique style.
I like both since movement is different. 2004 you can get around quicker using wall dodges but 99 you can bounce so it balances out. I do miss Arena Bombing Run though. I'll fix up the server or maybe let Snowguy take it over lol.

Any news on this department? UT2k4 was released for free with Epic's permission last week so it would prolly be a good time to get the server up if the plan is to do so. Needless to say it would be awesome to get Combogib ported to UT2k4, as its by far better than the vanilla UT2k4 iCTF...

Have been super pressed for time for a while. I will see what I can do about it on the weekends. It wouldn't take too much to get a server up with the bare minimums to start. Good to hear the game is available for free now 🥳
jerc used to have DM combo available for voting on his server which was pretty good fun with just a few players 🙂
Awesome. Combogib iDM sounds also very interesting, i have been longing for iDM but mostly there is only one server where ppl are willing to join it seems, and that one has outdated AntiTCC + lowgravity. 🙁
