Ooper Looks nice! Yeah I usually play with the game looking really bright with low textures so I can see people better when I want to be competitive. However, there are moments where I want the game to look more appealing during the more chill gamemodes/times.
I am testing out Unreal Tournament with raytracing enabled for the very first time, and so far it looks absolutely amazing! I had to switch out the in-game graphics driver for it to work, so sadly it won't work on many servers with ACE installed as the RTX driver isn't whitelisted by them yet. I think the London server lacks this, as I was able to take these beautiful screenshots and play an online match with ray-traced lighting on.
I will preface this for anyone with a beefy enough system wanting to give this a try, you will have added input/display latency and this probably isn't something that will be good if you want to be very competitive or to use as a daily driver or anything. It's more for taking screenshots or casually gaming. Most people here are likely using high refresh rate monitors with all their graphics on the lowest possible for that extra advantage, so I can understand if many wouldn't want to try this. Also, this tweak works on any map, but not every map will look equally good as the lighting is dependent on how the map creators set it up. About 80% of the maps looked great though and it's very playable for something that is experimental.
I might have to post it as videos because it's surprising seeing all the lights and shadows actually moving now. Kinda makes me feel weird lol. The game looks amazing and it makes playing on the London server feel new and interesting, im gonna leave it on for a few days before I switch back to my old settings.
Perhaps I could make a tutorial lateror go more in depth if people are interested in that sort of thing.
Some maps the effect is much more subtle than others. I'll make sure to post more screenshots over the next few days as I test all the maps. It's hard when all they ever play is the same 3-4 maps on there lol
