I have a 2nd bike like that a spin bike, wanted to try one, and saw one in a recycling centre for £20 looked like someone bought it, then forgot about it and got rid of it ,looked brand new other than a little bit of dust. Not as comfortable if you want to watch stuff while riding compared to a normal exercise bike.
When I started out again in 2022 on a recumbent bike(charity shop £35), I was only doing 10mins here and 15 mins there, and while in queue for overwatch games doing extra 5-10mins. Started to watch stuff while riding and was doing 1+ hour rides, I got very obsessed with riding and losing weight and lost 17kg in 2 months, 21kg in 3 months(91kg to 70kg), then I started to eat a lot more so I could do even more time a day to try and beat my max time in a day and to stop losing weight, limited myself to 3hours a day at some point 😆
Not watching stuff while on my main bike(normal exercise bike) my average speed/rpm on the same tension increases by a lot (27-31kph 80rpm) to 33kph-35kph (85-95rpm), I've done some 60-75mins 100rpm/36kph and 1 >37kph 75 minute ride. Watching stuff while riding I've done 6 hours in a day and two 5+ hour days.
I've had to cut down from a min of 75 mins a day to a max of 60 mins because I'm on a new medication and I'm not supposed to do vigorous cardio for several hours after taking it, it was also making me lose weight by lack of appetite, went from 65kg to 63kg. 15 minutes a day less doesn't sound like much but it adds up to a lot of calories per week I need to eat less to not lose weight.
