For testing grounds, it would be better to utilise either one of the other two EatSleepUT servers, New York or Amstredam, as they don't get much usage. If snowguy sees potential then setup could be configured to trail some of the suggestions and it doesn't mess anything up on the London server.

I used to run one from home in the early zeroes but it could only properly support 4 to 6 players and i only ran it on an ad hoc basis

You can get one cheap from ping perfect or we could pay the admin here a fiver a month for him her ti run an invite only server , nominal amount from us and the guy gets a side hustle

Personally i would exclude not only cheaters but all those with racist or political nicknames

Newbee London would be the best server. It's the only one really used to find out. People wouldn't think about the balancer while playing anyway. Currently, I get switched every game, or I am shorthanded. It would be nice to let the chips fall where they may.

SoulCollector If it balanced the player joining only that would be good rather than keep switching players mid-game - excluding where two players leave from the same team and it's now 8 vs 6. However a number of factors need to be taken into account as there is still potential for the teams to become unbalanced. For example, a weak player being placed on one team and then a stronger player joins after them who must then be placed on the opposing team that has a player short but is also the dominant team.

Newbee Like I said, let the chips fall where they may. Most of the time it's 9v9. Why try to balance if you are trying to play without it?

Newbee It really isn't going to be 2 players down. One player down, most likely. It's never going to happen though, but I wanted to go back to where everybody doesn't get a trophy. If you are having a good game, not to be upended. People would feel more comfortable by letting the chips fall where they may. With the balancer I see 7-1, 5-2 etc. so it's not working.

I get switched a lot i hate it , i think let the dice fall as they will , even if your team is getting slaughtered there are challenges to be found within that scenario - can we get just one flag ? Can we use the msp better anf grapple around more efficiently ? Can we work better as a team ?

The close matches are good but better when they happen naturally rather than being created

But each to his own of course i know some very able players get frustrated when they feel they are carrying the whole team or it looks like they are less skilled if they dont win

I think at this point I don't even care about being switched myself, however I do see the same pattern as others have mentioned: One guy (usually not a high fragger and sometimes not even a decent CTF player) will get switched and then spec + rejoin.

Cooldown sounds the most logical to me. Also I don't know how the balancer works in terms of adding/subtracting strength from players, but I've always had the theory that spam maps like andACTION, joust or even Egypt (even though I love it - yes you can hate me for it) really mess up the balancer. Players like Nu, Caligula, sandman among others will farm the shit out of them and i think that artificially ramps up their strength, messing up balancer later on. Not sure how team balance actually factors those maps in, though.

telfakiu you mean this Enraged_Newb guy ? He is often spec and accuse every1 better than him as a cheater.. Initially I thought he is just trolling. But seems he is dead serious about that. He is completly annoying. He does that everytime a "better" player is on the server ..... I think many players are annoyed by him already....

Enraged_Newb is a whole other can of worms I've been dying to discuss too, lol. I know this is off-topic, but, like, does anyone know how serious he is on his botting accusations? Like you, I first thought he was just trolling but the longer I know him the less I think he is, lol.

The maps and scores are with the balancer working. I don't know if !Teams was used during any of these games. A few closer ones and a bunch of blowouts.
