A public server is a pub. Everyone should be able to play, whether they’re casual, competitive, aggressive, defensive, or somewhere in between. People have different styles, and that’s part of what makes UT fun.
I’ve always found it strange when someone decides that because you don’t play CTF in the way they consider “correct”, you’re somehow not playing CTF properly. There’s no single right way to play a game that has been around for almost 30 years.
And that’s actually part of why I mentioned my own experience above. I’ve been playing since 1999, and over all those years my style has naturally evolved. Sometimes I’ll rush, sometimes I’ll play defensively, sometimes I’ll hold a position, and sometimes I’ll do things that probably annoy the hell out of someone on the other team. 😂 That’s UT.
At the end of the day, it’s a public server. If you don’t like someone’s playstyle, adapt, play around them, or simply don’t play with them. But calling someone a lamer, camper or cheater just because they play differently is a bit pointless.
