The amount of times I have to hear these scream/death sounds is literally insane. It's insanity.

I don't get it... which death sounds? are you trying to accomplish less noise or is there another reason for this?

So after some work & the help of AI (Claude obviously),
I have successfully muted all scream/death sounds!!

Insert file in:
UnrealTournament\NoDeathScream\Classes\NoDeathScream.uc
Go to UnrealTournament.ini
and under [Editor.EditorEngine]
add this: EditPackages=NoDeathScream
After that, open cmd and type 'cd c:\UnrealTournament\System\ && ucc make'

File is attached + guide for snowguy on how to install this on his Server.

It works offline with bots. Must be done server-side too.
We are waiting for snowguy to approve HOPEFULLY!

if trying this, you need to run the game like this from cmd:
"C:\UnrealTournament\System\UnrealTournament.exe" "DM-Deck16][?game=Botpack.DeathMatchPlus?mutator=NoDeathScream.NoDeathScream"

just for the record:

So I was talking to ChatGPT for like 60mins trying to achieve that.
Eventually ChatGPT started making up nonsense solutions just to make me happy.
This is where I went to Cluade.
Worked beautifully with Claude after 20-30mins of some work.
It clearly stated it does not & will not start making up solutions that does not exist & figured it up eventually.

Claude is way ahead ChatGPT but this is just me.

I'll check it out. Give me some time to go over it and most likely edit the code in one way or another plus test the results before adding to the server. I'll try to work on it this week. Any uscript coders here that want to weigh in on this feel free. I haven't looked at any files that are uploaded yet but I would want to default this to off and have each player turn it on with a command if they want it.

Yes the death sounds are so loud they are the only sound that bleeds out of my headphones. On another note without opening another thread can we do something about the hit sounds? Example I'll be going all kung fu like popping fuckers left and right the hit sounds making their bip bip noise then I'll shoot a guy bip bip turn to shoot another guy but oh no I get shot by the last guy because the hit sounds lied. I'm no coder but I'm guessing it's some client server disagreement.

I think the hitsounds are clientside only for the mutator being used on the server, there will always be client/server disagreements, unless you want the same delay to go with your hit registering.

I think it's client side mostly as well because I'll get the console death messages along with the hit sound plus the big onscreen message but the muther fuckers still running around. I'm pretty sure I did a Linux install of one of Snowguys setups and it started happening again. It's just weird I'm the only person this happens to. Bit of a reach but could bad hardware like shitty underclocked RAM cause this?
