hi .. some asked ... so i uploaded my settings for you
for those looking to aim better -- these settings might help u

settings I use in UT99 (DirectX9 / 1920x1080 / Raw Input) (Windows 10)
DesiredFOV=110.000000
DefaultFOV=110.000000 (takes little time to get used to -- but its a must --most important imo)
LODBias=1 (if u want to a more clear look, change LODBIAS to 2)
CacheSizeMegs=512
Vsync=False

my mouse settings
600 DPI / 1000Hz
(if you have regular mouse -- buy a 1000hz mouse)

some instructions:

1) copy all files to System folder of ut99 (except mp3 obviously) (backup your old ones)
2) go to Control Panel -> Mouse -> turn off 'Enhance pointer precision' (image added)

also .. I added my favorite UT99 tracks as mp3. (I use them with winamp while playing ut)

to be honest, I used to play with FOV 80.
but i found fov 110 & lower sensitivity much more precise and effective (for bigger screens)

i think what most players are missing is getting your mouse to be on 1to1 movement.
which cannot be achieved with DirectInput. only with Raw Input.

so thats key imo.

I would recommend also setting in game mouse sens to 1.0, and changing the x & y mouse axis in user.ini to 1.0, then change your mouse sensitivity by changing the DPI on your mouse.

I never asked a proper programmer but my theory with the 1.0 * 1.0 would stop float/double point inaccuracy even though it's probably way to small to be even visible, I could be completely wrong though.

I'm going out of the box here... I've noticed that I had issues aiming due to the sensitivity of the mouse being too high

MouseX=Axis aMouseX Speed=6.0
MouseY=Axis aMouseY Speed=6.0

But since I play in the Living Room TV (65") I could not afford to lower this setting (unless I change the mouse DPI which I'm too lazy to set up)...

So Ive changed only MouseX=Axis aMouseX Speed=4.0 while keeping MouseY=Axis aMouseY Speed=6.0

This allows me quickly shoot grapple high incomers to the flag (I need to quickly aim up) while have more control (and accuracy) on the X axle.

I've a Logitech G604 set to 800dpis for UT

the higher fov & lower sensitivity -- the better aimer you will become.
takes little time to get used to.

I also use these with combination of mouse movment. very helpful.

Well, low sens is good for medium-long distances, but oh boy, up close... just adjusting your pointer to opponents strafing/dodging is such a chore, as well as turning around.
