I believe so like most skilled players on this server. They play on a grapple server because there are almost no servers left where they can 'practice' and they like to 'shoot in' before playing on pugs.

Ooper the thing is: he's not only one opting for a switch instead of macro, so, I wonder: may be there is some kind of reasoning behind it besides "habit" or "lack of knowledge about macro".

Schizazoid Maybe he's old school and doesn't want to get spoiled by this macro that isn't available on all servers

Pretty sure the macro is part of the grapple mutator, always used that keybind and has worked on many servers over the years. If you don't have it bound you normally get a message every now and then.

I wonder what a sweaty player could do on the server with one of those 500+hz monitors and other stupidly expensive stuff.

Ooper 500hz is overkill since the server is limiting the FPS to around 300+-
And also, the old 500hz monitors aren't even that good at motion blur.
The the options for UT99 are a 240hz OLED or the Asus 1440p 360hz PG27AQN
Next year there will be new OLEDs with 360hz and a more mature panel, I'd wait for that

You can play on non ig+/newnet at higher with higher netspeed, you just have to change it before entering the combo server

Ooper yeah you're right, I just tried it. Ok then the best monitor is a 540hz Asus PG248QP TN. Sadly it costs a ridiculous $899 before tax

I randomly saw a video the other day of a 590hz(I think) monitor, that's why I randomly mentioned it, I think it was north of $2500. can't imagine many games would be able to get the most out of those sort of monitors.

for gaming you go for RTX 4090. If your wallet is too heavy, go for ROG RTX 4090 Matrix ($3200)

Even if I could afford something like that I just don't think I would buy a 90 series card, my gtx 970 was still good enough for me until it died, I'd probably be more than happy with a 3050 or 4050 as I'm not really into ultra/high settings, and buy a better CPU/RAM/Motherboard.
