Those menus(and the other keybind menus) are also useful if you don't know the keycode to a key as you can find out by assigning it to a custom button, then you can make keybinds in console, that's how I would bind the extra buttons on gaming mice in the 436 days to get the unknownXX code.
I only have Ha ha ha. bound to tab, even though I have voice sounds turned off, normally means I've done something stupid like miss an easy shot on the flag carrier.
Can't take up valuable keys otherwise have to unbind my spinning keybinds 👀
