  • Can we at least consider a referendum on hopping?

UTNL @snowguy I would be really interested in hearing you weigh in on this.

Well, he responded in the old topic with following:

snowguy I think I mentioned before that I allow (but don't encourage) bouncing on the ESU servers. It would be nice if some consideration is given to others though: if people complain about it just play regularly, don't run up the score by bouncing so you end up with a 7-0 game for instance, and don't bounce full time everywhere or use macros for it.

And something tells me, his position on the matter won't change. After all, right now bouncing ain't that big of a problem, despite a couple lamers ruining a match here and there.

"destro,
The stats are being logged on the other servers I just haven't set them up for the website yet because of some other issues that need fixing. All of the current stats will need re-importing after some issues are fixed and I figured I would just wait until then to set up the others.

The Atlanta server was really only ever popular on Friday and Saturday nights around 10p to 3a EST. It's still possible it could have a resurgence. It's a shame because there have been a number of returning USA players each year that give up after some time of trying to play on london and not getting anyone to join Atlanta so they seemingly move on to other games or activities."

I asked about this almost a year ago and that's the response I received. I assume he's extremely busy or it's just too time consuming to fix the us atlanta server. I think there's a few factors why Americans play on the London server, but if some issues would be fixed there would be others willing to migrate over to the US server. I just don't know if it's worth the time or effort. I'm not for or against bouncing. In competitive play when there were ladders it was not allowed and clan members had to return flags. Bouncing has been around a long time, Coret facility was one of the main one's it was always banned in because of tele-bounce and even the 44oz servers tried taking out bouncing when they implemented combo and grapple in the early 2010's.

I mostly play on the UK server because that is were the players are. If an exact clone of London was all it took to get players on Atlanta I'm sure SnowGuy would have done that years ago.

I think there was already a clone of the London server in Atlanta

What about Amsterdam how is the lag there for American players?

Admin Edit: Removed private chat again!

Had to remove the same private discussion posted in public for the third time. I've given fair warning a few times already. There were also threats from this user about DDoS attacks on the game servers. You've earned your ban again and this was your second chance already.

I think your servers are fine from her pressing F5 in a browser 😆

An update from the land of UT BunnyTrack.

Introduction of AutoBouncing
We've brought in a new feature called Auto Bounce. Auto Bouncing will activate when you hold down your jump button and you're travelling above 450 units per second. This should nullify the hardware gap between owning a mouse with an unlockable scroll wheel. Please note, this feature is still in BETA and requires you to be between 120 and 360 FPS for it to be the most effective, maintaining a high netspeed (25k) - we're looking forward to feedback on this

Peter I no longer have a mouse with infinite scroll and can bounce..

infinite scroll helps, but it's not required.

now... having this at the disposal of everyone just by holding the jump button, sounds OK to me...

I dare say that after such an update of Auto Bounce, when everyone is already at your level in bouncing, your rank will drop below the bots of this server

There is a smoothness to infinite bounce.

    12 days later

I like time my bounces (I don't like infinite scroll), but like I said before, that means I need to time my shots too, sacrificing some efficiency. I think that's a good deal, for example @bustacell is a good aimer (better than me by far), but when he is grappling and/or bouncing (and fooling around with his nice combos) its easy to get him and his efficiency gets wrecked too.

I must also say with bouncing we can fill the gap when team balancer don't notice the team disparity, especially with guys with almost 70+% eff (almost perfect aim), at least I can reach and leave (get owned) the flag closer to our base.

      This!!

I also time my bounces and shots between wheel stroke same finger. So no it's definitely not some kind of hack or mod.
