Ok emoji's are functional

Best part is, server need not have textures loaded. If two clients have ChatDiamond installed, the emoji experience is generated amongst clients only.

Haven't got to test chatdiamond yet since I don't really have a windows machine but very nice documentation you included, it was a good read! Looking forward to your native Linux version and I'm already jealous of your native Linux modding ability 😀 Will need to get around to playing with that myself at some point.

I have a thought. I am not a coder by no means but can chat diamond be layer into a mapvote tab?

Dear X-Cellerator,

That is a nice thought because I understand sometimes both windows popping up could be little strange. However map vote is a server side mod and Chat Diamond is totally client side.

I am working on hot key binding, meaning pressing a key to directly open Chat Window or Console Window. Let me know if that helps. I can make that exclusive which would close map vote before opening Chat or Console Window.

I'm guessing this won't work with xconsole? I really like xconsole but I like your consoles ability to just see chat. My gawd I'm so conflicted 🤯

You didn't say clearly what do you mean by "ability to just see chat.", so I can only guess whether:

to "just see chat area visually"
or to "just see players's messages"

If the latter, then xconsole does conatin such functionality, but not in 3.4.8, you need to install xconsole3.5.0rc71, LINK (I can't find a link to 3.5.0rc72) , but I had to fallback to 3.4.8 because 3.5.0rc71 conatins a bug when using "double font size" feature in UT99: LINK BUG , this bug causes the text input field to disappear completely, thus you can't type anything, which causes xconsole3.5.0rc71 to be broken and useless for me.

Ye I think you can only use one.

Also don't worry, ChatDiamond is in quite early phase. I'd rather have players use the polished version which shall come later this year.

Yeah, if I am thinking right, this would replace x-console.

Steps are like so:

Place the ChatDiamond.dll and ChatDiamond.u files in System directory.
AkelEditd.lib is optional file and I’d copy that too in System directory
just to be safe.
Open UnrealTournament.ini and find the section
[Engine.Engine]
GameRenderDevice=VulkanDrv.VulkanRenderDevice
AudioDevice=ALAudio.ALAudioSubsystem
. . .
Console=UTMenu.UTConsole
. . .
Modify to
. . .
Console=ChatDiamond.CDUTConsole
. . .

Please not that the software is in alpha stage. A better version is being prepared and shall be released later this year. Fee free to report any bugs to GithubIssues.
