Anyways I was playing few nights ago as spec or lag.
This guy I was playing with , Im not going to mention his name not to start more shit lol , was doing some weird shit.
I started pushing him real hard and at one point I began to spawn kill the crap out of him and he couldn't move lol and for some reason I started to get killed right when he respawned and this happened like 4 times in a row.
I had that happen to me before , where I get killed and come back and some how I instant shoot who killed me ? I figure some kind of bug? But this dude did it 4 times in a row to try and get out of being spawn killed.
Either way Im sure there are people cheating but we cant just guess work like this.
I finish games sometimes too with over 70% eff and think people might think I was cheating. Sometimes you're just on and hit everything.
We need to have a proper anti cheat and until then not much we can do but speculate.

        I have had this happen but it's kinda rare where I spawn lined up for the shot. I figured it was a bug or maybe a gift from developer to give you an out of getting spawn raped.

        I don't think it's a bug. Maybe it's just lag. Possibly caused by DDoS or DoS. Sometimes I think that some players are part of a botnet and they are completely unaware of it

            drunken_fool Only way to be almost sure people aren't cheating is to play a more modern game like UT4uu or UT2004. I doubt many are willing to do that so we are stuck guessing.

                  Nah with a low ping on a server like Atlanta even with with my bad aim I get 65 percent pretty often.

                  Yeah, ut4 was never released and thus there's most likely next to none public cheats around, but c'mon, if somebody deliberately want to cheat - he'll find the way.

                    Newer games have better cheat protections but yes all games some people are cheating. Do we really need new cheat protections for UT99? Such a small player base where everyone is known to others I'd have to say no we don't.

                      I've been playing for about 10 years and people have been burying the game for about 10 years. The most I've seen during this time is that the servers are dying and people are leaving and coming, which I think is completely normal.

                      The server currently has 2020 anti-cheat installed. So I think a new anti-cheat is really needed...🙂

                          There is a new version of ACE being worked/tested on, I think it's said to work with native Linux or ARM pcs(think it's one of the two, I'm not in the testing group as I don't run any utservers so don't know much about it), the creator is also one of the main 469 patch devs, and that takes up a lot of time atm as well.

                          Nothing spoils the game more than it's own playerbase, tbh. True to any genre. So, cheaters not alone to blame. Take any moron voting joust when server is packed, any sentry-bot style spawncamper, etc. - you get the idea.
                          Anyway, there's no incentive to update anticheating measures every month, since the game ain't popular and pretty much dead anyway - thus less public or paid cheats being made (apart from enthusiasts with w/e intent).
