You are saying your FPS also drops with the meshes i made? Thats weird, could i try it if you give me your map?
It should not be so difficult for the CPU, i had much more complex models, maybe its because of the texture on the model instead, i could make a model with 2x2 pixel texture.
Dont know if editor keeps original texture in memory if you change it.
Dont know how much copy's you made, thousands?
And else you could make 2d masked decoration

What tool hou use to make CPU visible in editor? I can try and make new model again with simple texture from scratch
