I play on my canape couch, half sit, half lay down, with a wireless mouse, a wireless keyboard, 3m away from my TV... I also have some degree of strabism... I'm pretty good given the circumstances, and I could care less... I play for fun.. I love when we're playing and funny shit happens like getting stuck on a wall during a dog fight. 😃

  • Bouncing has changed the way I play.
I now attack more as I know that, with bouncing, I do have a chance to capture the flag and score.
Without bouncing I'm not skilled enough to do it as often so I prefer to defend the flag (often by camping on my base).

Bouncing (based on a bug or not) requires some skill, proof of that, is that it's not easy to bounce, not easy to master it, and not everyone manages to do it (either because they just can't - like I can't have a good aim, or just because of laziness to learn).

You need skill to: calculate your bouncing path, to position yourself in optimal angle, time your jumps correctly on each bounce. I am now in the point that I can bounce forward, backwards, sideways, change directions and pov while shooting at the same time.

Bouncing on itself is pretty dumb... You're a sitting duck going on a straight line. When you couple it with some strategies like:

    • wait to have someone to boost you
    • wait to have your team to cover you
    • take a longer but more hidden and "bounceable" path
    • ....

Is where I see that bouncing is a real skill.

Whoever states that no skill is required, are the ones who could never master it. Otherwise prove me wrong.

This was already discussed here: https://eatsleeput.com/d/107-ilegal-or-fun
On that thread you have tutorials to show you how to bounce.

Back in May I've stated :

If you ask my opinion, is that bouncing should be stopped (technically) from the server (consequently allowed until a fix is in place)

I've now changed my opinion as when we have bouncers in the game, the dynamics really change. No matter if SBT is on the other team, I know I can probably go get the flag and score.

Therefore I say that we could regulate it, to have bouncing allowed only when tied or loosing. We let enforce that regulation via vote kick (like the others "No team sabotage" or "Don't discourage new players")

When there are bouncers on different teams, then the game is just awesome (yes busta I'm talking about our game yesterday )

    • Why you always have to turn a discussion in to a deranged rant? Brough up communism of all things... Red Scare 4.0, or something? Btw IRL it was actively used to take attention off the actual problems, now we see you trying to employ same tactics. Guess people who speak against bouncing are on the right track?

You do realise that your speech "banning things bad" can be easily applied to cheating? "Oh, it's not cheating, it's external help for people with disabilities!", or "Oh, aimbot doesn't make you score more frags, because everyone can train their aim and reaction to score more frags!", etc.

As for your "it's not a but - it's a feature" - you are dead wrong. Absense of epic's comments on that doesn't matter, since Epic doesn't care about a game (and entire series) they've essentially killed. And lack of patching never means that bug is a feature - that logic is used only by people with malicious intent, looking for a way to cheat without getting ban.

Just look at standard dodging: you can't dodge non-stop in rapid succession - there's always small pause after landing, same goes for standard jumping (although this pause is much smaller) - that behavior stayed through all the official and unofficial patches. Bouncing on the other hand just ignores all the pauses - it clearly is unintended behavior.

Red Team were victorious thanks to some nice capping by atezris who capped 4 and atezris who took the flag20 times.

👉 atezris probably could not have done it without the help of atezris 👈 who had 11 covers and atezris for sealing the base off 0 times.

        • Hello everyone,
I would like to introduce myself. I'm a retired engineer that started playing UT in 1999 when I was 37 years old. My neighbor was playing Unreal Tournament and showed it to me. That's all it took and I was hooked. I've been in a few clans along the way. I played in an Excessive UT clan and two sniper clans. I still enjoy the game and cannot imagine never playing again. I'm very happy that people are out there that want to preserve this edition of UT, and have found a way to update the software with the 469d patch, which is the one that I currently use. I enjoy the severs that we play on. I don't kick any players and try to get along with everyone. I do have many, many favorite players that I find amazing in their skillset, I don't think I will ever stop learning something new about the game.

The name Immortal Soul will not be back on the servers. Soul Collector is Immortal as many of you have already figured out. I use a DELL laptop to play: Alienware M17 R5, AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX, (2) 1TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD's, 32GB DDR5 RAM, Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti, 17.3" display @ 360HZ. Again, I use a Logitech G Pro wireless mouse and use a RAZER mouse pad.

Sure, the QoS is active. I think the problem is in the provider.. I'm sure next year with the GPON/XGS-PON ( here the connections actually are 2,5/1Gbit/s in GPON and 10/2Gbit/s with XGS-Pon ) everything will change..
