As far as spawnkilling on certain maps goes, something like a .2-.5 second spawn-protection would be a big benifit vs spawn campers, however on bigger maps that would be a problem.

End of the day it's just pubs so most people just deal with it, plenty who pick small maps with 14+ players so that's a supply/demand issue.

    I think pubs are more busy than pugs, so its not 'just ' and why doing less than on pugs or any other server? The fact is players want to have fun playing a map or more, so the spawnlaming is more than annoying!
    Btw small maps are also picked on pugs with a lot of players!

    I didn't mean it as less important, but rather that pubs are a more casual environment and people play accordingly. Pugs are where balance changes end up being more important but it tends to be a barrier of entry of sorts.

    Closest example I know is Team Fortress 2, where most pub servers that have tried implementing a CP6v6 mode (competitive mode) with all the differences that come along with it nearly all failed, in a game that has a massive player-base, even minor changes weren't well favored amongst the casual players and there were many instances of this being tried.

    In UT it's hard to say what would/would not work, I think a .2 second spawn protection on only the s maps would likely be a good change but anything more would likely be too much. Then again just leaving it as is seems ok too, the server is very populated regardless.

    Spawn protection can hinder attackers though on some maps, LiandriDocks is awful with spawn protection with the way the spawns are laid out, generally using a shock ball to block a spammers combo is the only way to stop them, because if you shoot their shockball with primary fire you get killed and do nothing to the spammer.

    Tweaking the self damage so you still don't do any damage to yourself(doing trick shots like bustacell for example won't do any damage to yourself), but if an enemy shoots your shockball self damage is applied meaning spammers will get punished if they are at close range.

    It's like a reccuring theme isn't it 😃 spawn protection of 0,5 secs should be enough to be able to move from spam idiots in time to kill them and don't gives out too much edge to defense for when frag getters are trying to get out

    Prefer bife to one of those players that go to spec as soon as their team is 1 cap down, but is fine if their team is 6 caps up.

      Effibrie is 100% ctf , bife almost never play ctf , bife is dm , camp , backshooting and spawnkill

          I also have the impression that he is hunting me 😉 , but I think it's because effibrie is constantly moving, and recently he even learned to use a hook from what I saw.

          He is a bit slow at noticing if you are trying to help him from the other team if it's unbalanced towards him, he'll go out of his way to kill you even if you're afk/not shooting him when he could get the flag carrier instead.
