By the way. I installed UT99 PC version on xbox original a long time ago ^^

Very laggy but worked...

This is cool, my first experience with UT was on Dreamcast πŸ™‚

Some more info about UT for android in case anyone wonders. We normally couldn't install our UT game on android because it was built for intel x86 processors but the Dreamcast CPU was a 67 MHz Yamaha AICA with 32-bit ARM7 RISC CPU so with a dreamcast emulator this can actually run on mobiles with ARM processors maybe raspberry PIs too if there is an emulator for it.

One thing to be clear about though is it probably won't work online unless someone keeps working on it to get it working. I certainly wouldn't want to play online with a phone and virtual controller -- you would just get destroyed by PC players but it would be cool to spectate on your phone. Someone was trying to get the dreamcast working to join servers some time ago. I don't know if they were ever successful:

The link to dreamcast-talk forum in the second ut99.org link also seems to have not ended in a solution yet.

What you need to install the Dreamcast UT port on your phone.

  • An android dreamcast emulator
  • A Dreamcast UT ROM (this could be copyright infringement)
  • A Dreamcast BIOS (again this could be copyright infringement)

It looks like one of the Android Dreamcast emulators, possibly the paid version, comes with a dreamcast bios so the bios might not be needed if using that emulator.

Here is some video of it:

Thanks to ver2ux for mentioning this here it's pretty interesting.

Thanks to everyone for not posting links to copyrighted stuff too πŸ™‚

snowguy my first experience with UT was on Dreamcast πŸ™‚

Haha. same πŸ˜€ it was somewhere in 2003
ehh. I remember how much I loved playing on dreamcast (Vanishing Point. Crazy Taxi. Soldier of Fortune. UT99. etc...)
By the way. Now I have a decent collection of rare consoles...

    i ❀️ consoles

ESUOH Sure. Google knows everything ^^
Probably better to play PC version. PM me if you can't find it

      Edit
2min and I found (Soldier of Fortune: Platinum Edition. Soldier Of Fortune 2 Double Helix)

Nicefu yea i did some google before but never found the playable version , thanks

Yeah, I did lots of crazy taxi on the dreamcast but moved to a playstation 1 not much later.

jerc Vanishing Point is like the best car game ever πŸ˜€

Vanishing point seems vaguely familiar but I'd have to argue for the best car game being any of the gran tourismo series, back then anyway. I stopped playing consoles after playstation 2. Bought a used PS3 but never played it more than an hour or so.

You reminded me of an old racing game on the NES though, lol. Couldn't remember the name but the moment I heard the music ( same songs over and over every time you had to start over 😠 ) I knew it was right, Rad Racer. I remember it being much harder than it looks like in this video, they make it look easy. It definitely was not easy but was very addictive. Maybe after you memorize the turns in all the tracks it would be easier:

Yeah it was tough until you got the muscle memory. Loved DC crazy taxi 1 and 2. Had like 200 games thanks to alt.binaries.dreamcast. Allegedly! Don't do the warez kids it's bad😱

            a year later

snowguy Ah, the nostalgia hits hard with Rad Racer on NES! I get the Gran Turismo love, tooβ€”those were the days of epic console gaming. I never made it past the PS2 era, and my brief encounter with the PS3 echoes yours. But that NES music, the frustration of repeating tracks, and the addictive challenge of Rad Racer? Classic gaming memories that never fade!

Lol, i just jokingly asked this on discord when UT99 will be released on Android, if its possible to spectate from Android and watch you guys play on Eatsleeput server then it would actually be cool and maybe make ut99 more popular.

Yes this is what I've been saying for years. Say you are at work or out somewhere and bored no problem spec a game on your Android phone. I sorta had it almost working using RDP but that required a PC running all the time to RDP into. iPhone people don't ask no ones cares besides UT isn't trendy enough for you anyway.
