So, hey there, some may know me, some may not. I used to play since the very early beginning of this game mode, back in <//UrS//> days and Madrixis' "Multiplay Server". However, mainly I have always been a Bunnytrack player, even until today.
Nontheless I've always been playing Combogib very passionately, always going for the flag or covering the FC and only back-shooting those who are doing it to me in first place, since it's the most disrespectful thing you can do imho (besides cheating ofc).
First of all I'd like to say that I'm glad that this mod is still alive and there is finally a Forum and a Discord, I've been waiting for decades for this to happen, as the previous server owner "SMoke" (or so) never responded to my messages.
The main reason I'm writing here is because I'm wondering, if everyone is really fine with the current server settings? With people spawnkilling as much as they like to or just playing DM instead of CTF? Or players like "useless" camping all game long and "[Lou]Sasolle" (or whatever his nick is) doing nothing else but shooting shockballs all over the map?
It's just hard for me to believe that most players really enjoy or tolerate such gamestyle.
So I've been curious what you people think about it and why no one would like to change anything about it?

P.S. The server is currently having constant packet loss and might need a restart.

Thing is once you have a UT99 you never need to install it again just copy the unreal tournament folder to somewhere safe. You literally can copy that folder to a usb drive and play on any computer personally i just copy the folder to C and put a shortcut to the exe on my desktop. Updating a demo seems so janky just go see the pirates at the bay and ask the for the unreal tournament GOTY and a bottle of rum. Oh and Epic eat a dick you greedy fucks.

You can't buy any UT or Unreal anymore, Epic took them all down, I got Unreal and UT GOTY on GOG for ~ £2.30 right before the cut off time, the only way to legally buy them now is second hand physical copies, but if piracy is the only option to play those games now, epic are the ones to blame for making it impossible to buy them.

I have UT GOTY 2 Disc, UT 2003, UT 2004, UT 3, and Unreal 2 on physical copies. I ironically found UT2004 in a second hand shop after finishing developing a discord bot for UT2K4 servers, I never played the game which made it a bit more tricky, then saw a copy for £0.50 and UT3 for £0.75 a few weeks later after finishing the discord bot.

Recently, the game has become unavailable to buy digitally but we still shouldn't post links to copyright infringing content.

I still recommend finding and buying a used game disc which may now be the only truly legal way to acquire the game.

From time to time I play Cabal
And previously I played also America's Army

But since I was a kid, I played UT.

Oops, I think this one is my fault. I recently put a compressed file on the redirect which is bigger when compressed than it is originally. Many more details in this thread:

I don't know if there is a proper solution yet but I just deleted the file from the redirect so everyone that connects will just download it from the game server instead.

Can you try and connect again now ver2ux and tell us if it is fixed?

Try cleaning you cache if not you might need to reinstall.

I am 35, been playing since the game came out late 99

I am currently 41 and I started playing back when I was in college and our campus had a LAN that we could all play together on. Those were the days

Considering the game has been out for 23 years I believe most people who have been here from the start are at least around 30 years old or more
